• New Zealand: ANZ activity outlook index came at 15.6 percent, same as last month.

Upcoming:

• Germany: GFK consumer confidence report will be released at 7:00 GMT, along with fourth quarter unemployment survey and followed by IFO survey at 9:00 GMT.
   
• Italy: December trade balance report will be released at 9:00 GMT, along with industrial sales and orders report at 9:00 GMT.
   
• United Kingdom: BBA mortgage approvals report for December will be released at 9:30 GMT. CBI distributive trade survey report will be released at 11:00 GMT.
   
• Eurozone: ECB will announce interest rate decision at 12:45 GMT, followed by a press conference at 13:30 GMT.
   
• United States: Weekly jobless claims report will be released at 13:30 GMT. New home sales report will be released at 15:00 GMT. EIA will release weekly natural gas inventory report at 15:30 GMT. Kansas Fed manufacturing survey report will be released at 16:00 GMT.
   
• Canada: Retail sales report will be released at 13:30 GMT.
   
• Japan: Tokyo and national CPI reports will be released at 23:30 GMT.
