Fundamentals to watch out for this week

Like last week, this week is risk heavy too. Major focus as a country will be on US.

What to watch for over the coming days 

  • FOMC, BOE, BOJ, SNB 

Three major central banks will be announcing monetary policy this week, one of which is a hawk (FED), another two doves (BOJ, SNB) and the other one (Neutral). Even without actions, the verbal could be enough to generate volatility in the market.

BOJ will announce policy on Tuesday, FED on Wednesday and BOE on Thursday.

  • US primary (Republican) 

March 15th would be crucial for two Republican candidates, Marco Rubio and John Kasich as their respective home states, Florida and Ohio goes to vote. A failure to win these states would be a good buy from the race. Moreover eyes will be over, how Republican front runner Donald Trump is holding out.

  • UK budget for Gilts 

UK Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne will be delivering budget, in which he is widely expected to introduce more cuts, which would influence government borrowing ahead. Expect volatility in Gilts.

  • Key data 

US retail sales on Tuesday would be vital to gauge consumer sentiment there. US consumer prices on Wednesday. Wage growth from UK job report on Wednesday, likely to be major influencer of Pound pairs.
