Fundamentals to watch out for this week

This week is relatively risk heavy with data and events. Focus is on NFP data from U.S. and ECB monetary policy.

What to watch for over the coming days –

  • FED chair Janet Yellen’s speech -

Biggest event of this week is on Monday, when FED chair Janet Yellen speaks at World Affairs Council in Philadelphia on Money. Her comments will come after disappointing jobs report on Friday, when headline payroll rose by 38,000.

  • US primary -

Tuesday will host biggest primaries in United States ahead of July convention. Biggest state California will be voting on Tuesday. Other key states to watch out will be New Jersey and New Mexico among the six that will vote.

  • RBA rate decision -

Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) will announce monetary policy meeting on Tuesday. Focus will be on future outlook as RBA is expected to hold steady at this meeting.

  • China data -

Lots of data from China will be announced this week, including trade balance, FX reserve, FDI and inflation. Investors will focus whether world’s second largest economy weakens further or not.

  • RBNZ monetary policy -

Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) will announce monetary policy on Wednesday. There is a high probability that RBNZ will got for a cut in rates.
