The star studded events featured “Teen Wolf” star Cody Christian front row supporting the European designers making waves dressing many celebrities. Their designs have been seen on Michelle Williams (Destiny’s Child), Ally Brooke (Fifth Harmony), Tinashe, Jessi J, Nicole Williams (Wags), Ashanti, V. Bozeman, Kelsey Ballerini, Game of Thrones actress Nathalie Emmanuel, Ronni Hawk, Kat McNamara, Rachel Mortenson, Jessica Pimentel, Jean Watts, Brenda Song and more.
Charles & Ron were one of the few designers that were selected to exhibit one of their couture designs at Buckingham Palace for the Commonwealth Fashion Exchange. The exhibition curated by Vogue’s Hamish Bowles featured Stella McCartney, Burberry and Karen Walker among others. The night was a first at the Palace and guest included; Naomi Campbell and Anna Wintour who complimented the designers on their design.
For their Fall/Winter 18/19 collection they stayed within the Palace theme, exploring the rich opulent treasures of the Maltese Islands drawing inspiration from one of their favorite places; Palazzo Parisio. The color palette for this season was inspired by The Palazzo and its gardens situated in a small village and date back to the time of the Order of the Knights of St. John.
The rich colors of the marble floors, the opulent Versailles inspired ballroom, Hibiscus flowers and eclectic style is translated into a rich and playful combination of Deep Red, Spicy Yellow, Nasturtium and Ice Blue paired with neutrals like Gold, Creamy White and Black.
Besides the distorted stripe pattern the graphic prints take on a more photographic identity to emphasize the beauty of the palace rooms and gardens. Silk, Faux Suede, Silk Organza, Cotton Velvet, and Lace are among the fabrics used for this collection.
The bags for this season are either small or extra-large. The popular “Micro Queen” Bag gets a makeover and is embellished with gold studs, and the collection introduces new large shoppers and over size printed envelope clutches. The Models wore printed boots designed by Charles & Ron and also handcrafted costume jewelry.
A special thank you to Baroness of Tabria, Christiane Ramsay Scicluna and her daughter Justine Pergola for their continuous hard work and dedication to run and maintain the palace and for sharing with us the beauty and glamour of Palazzo Parisio!
