France’s INSEE business sentiment likely to have remained firm in December

The INSEE French business confidence is likely to have remained firm in December. The INSEE manufacturing indicator and the corresponding PMI and Bank of France measures have finally converged on a standardised basis after a long time apart, noted Societe Generale in a research report.

The INSEE figures are likely to have remained firm at 102 for the overall business climate and at 103 for the manufacturing confidence in December, added Societe Generale. While moving towards the New Year, France is believed to be on the path to record strong economic growth in 2017. Unemployment in France has begun falling, investment continues to rebound, while corporate profits remain high.
