‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Season 2, Episode 10 Spoilers: "Do Not Disturb" Features Alicia’s Continuing Development into Strong Female Lead

‘Fear The Walking Dead’ season 2’s episode 10 is entitled “Do Not Disturb” and will feature Alicia’s continuing development and evolution as the series’ latest strong female lead character.

According to Melty, the preceding episode entitled “Los Muertos” saw Madison (Kim Dickens), Strand (Colman Domingo), Ofelia (Mercedes Mason), and Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) fleeing Celia’s burning estate while intending to get back to the Abigail. They are then forced to seek refuge in an abandoned hotel after finding the yacht stolen.

Although the hotel seemed safe enough at first, it was actually crawling with walkers. Madison, Strand, and Alicia then find themselves trapped while Ofelia goes missing.

The new promo for episode 10 opened with Alicia fighting off a good number of walkers in a hotel room. She is seen stabbing one walker right in the skull in one bold stroke. It was speculated that Alicia may emerge as one of the television show’s more powerful female characters, likened to Carol of ‘The Walking Dead’.

According to an article on IGN, the series has shifted group dynamics while exploring each individual character’s evolution. “Los Muertos” followed Madison, Strand, Ofelia, and Alicia while they lost track with everyone else they were traveling with.

Debnam-Carey said of her character, “The split starts to cement a kind of metamorphosis for Alicia. She finally has to come to terms with who she is, on her own, without the group. I think there’s a lot of dynamics already established going into it because there’s a family and a hierarchy of some sort and relationships are established.”

She continued, “Finally, now that those are broken down, she can think of herself and where she’s going and what kind of person she’s going to be as a leader. That’s what’s really great about that splitting off. It’s also nice because we get to go in depth a little, more character by character, into their own little personal journeys.”

During another interview with Variety, Debnam-Carey teased, “She’s the one person that hasn’t lost as much as everyone else… It’s the first time she’s been able to step into that leadership role. She’s putting down the role of daughter, the role of the child, and proving herself as an equal.”

‘Fear The Walking Dead’ is a post-apocalyptic horror and drama television series created by Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson. It premiered on AMC on August 2015 as a companion series and prequel to ‘The Walking Dead’.

Season 2’s episode 10, entitled “Do Not Disturb”, is scheduled to premiere on AMC on September 4, 2016.
