So you're strolling along Gielinor, farming OSRS gold or leveling. Suddenly, you're booted out of the game, and you can't log back in. You've been perma-banned. But why? You've been a good player who followed all the rules. Also, being inactive doesn't exempt you from this random banning. Some users have their accounts banned even if they've stopped playing for a while!
It's a problem users have been experiencing. However, no matter how much they've asked or requested for reconsideration, they just get silenced.
Censorship
Sometimes, developers need a push. Players clamoring over social media spread awareness of the issue, and game mods and other relevant people see it. Now, they have a choice. They can either get right into fixing the problem or ignore it. Unfortunately, Jagex has decided on the latter.
More than that, they're even actively silencing players who are trying to raise awareness on the issue. They're erasing posts and banning who posted them. Even alternate accounts are a no-go. Currently, there's no official explanation for these bans.
Any Solutions?
Of course, players are still hopeful that enough pressure can fix the issue. Who wouldn't be angry when the account you spent years on gets banned for no reason? This kind of reaction isn't out of the ordinary. The outrage and cries for justice should be expected.
What is unusual is the silence on the developer's part. Are they hiding something? Sure, there could be sensitive information about the issue, but there are also ways to skirt around those. Any kind of explanation or acknowledgment would go a long way to appease these users. It would mean that Jagex is aware of the issue and is on the way to resolving it. You’ll be able to go back to OSRS gold making and leveling and skilling. As long as they keep silent, nobody is happy.
Here's to hoping these unjustified bans get lifted!
