Every Super Mario Cereal Comes With A Surprise Amiibo For Super Mario Odyssey

Super Mario Odyssey is one of the hottest titles in the video game industry right now, even rivaling fellow Nintendo Switch title Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wilds in terms of critical acclaim. Just to add to the fun, however, there’s also a Super Mario Cereal product now that contains Amiibos in every box. These special items can grant special bonuses that can be used in the game.

The new cereal product has been in the rumor mill for a few days and as of now, it has been officially confirmed, Kotaku reports. The cereals will become available starting December 11th, and along with every delicious and nutritious box of star-shaped goodies with red & green marshmallows sprinkled in, buyers will also get Amiibos that will give them in-game hearts and gold coins in Super Mario Odyssey.

Anyone who has bought Lucky Charms with berry flavors will have a good idea of what to expect from these cereals. However, it’s the quality of the novelty items that make them stand out. By and large, licensed cereal goodies have been quite lackluster of late, to the disappointment of adults who remember the good old days of truly surprising cereal box surprises.

In the official announcement post by Nintendo, this new cereal venture was made possible through a partnership with Kellogg’s. As Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Nintendo of America, Tom Prata put it, this is a great way to expand the company’s reach that focuses on fun and enjoyment.

“This powered-up partnership with Kellogg’s is another exciting way for us to expand the Nintendo brand in unique and creative ways,” Prata said. “We are always looking for new opportunities to bring smiles to people of all ages, and this is a fun way to kick off the day.”

Unfortunately, this is a limited-edition campaign. Anyone who wants to get their hands on these Amiibos and unique Super Mario-themed cereals had better move fast.
