Euro area construction output rises in September

Euro area construction output rose sequentially in the month of September. On a month-on-month basis, construction sector saw a rise of 0.1 percent, showed the official statistics office Eurostat. It had remained stable in August. On a year-on-year basis, production in construction was up 3.1 percent.

The sequential rise was driven by building construction, which rose 0.2 percent. Meanwhile, civil engineering stayed stable. Among member states, Slovenia and the Netherlands recorded the highest rises in construction, whereas Slovakia recorded the largest decreases.

The year-on-year growth of 3.1 percent was driven by building construction and civil engineering, which rose 3.7 percent and 0.9 percent, respectively. The highest rises in production in construction were seen in Slovenia.
