Ericsson’s Blockchain Data Integrity now available on GE's Predix platform

Ericsson announced the launch of Blockchain Data Integrity that is commercially available on GE's Predix platform for building industrial applications.

The Blockchain Data Integrity from Ericsson makes sure that Predix-applications and solutions offer fully auditable, compliant and trustworthy data. The platform will enable auto-generation and verification of tamperproof, irreversible signatures for verifying trust across data, system configurations and firmware.

The Predix platform that is designed by GE will allow customers to develop, deploy, operate as well as monetize the industrial internet applications.

“Through the use of GE's Predix platform, Ericsson's Blockchain micro service provides assurance that data captured during field inspections and/or from IOT systems is reliable and consistent, even as it is transferred across systems. This is especially important in both heavily regulated industries, such as transportation, and in analytical environments where outcomes are at the mercy of the accuracy of the data,” Brandon K. Parker, Product Director, Asset Performance Management & Analytics, at GE Transportation Digital Solutions, said.

The Blockchain Data Integrity is based on Ericsson's Data Centric Security offering. The service supports independently verifiable chain of custody for data pipelines and workflows, from data capture to storage, without relaying in central trust authorities. It delivers extensive scale, near real-time signature verification, post-quantum proof as well as high service availability.

Also, the platform is portable across geographies, organizational boundaries and service providers and ensures compliance with legal, business and regulatory requirements.

“Ericsson's Blockchain Data Integrity has been made available in GE's Predix catalog and marketplace to guarantee the availability of fully auditable, compliant and trustworthy data. Predix developers who take advantage of the service can be confident that data residing in Predix has not been tampered with or otherwise modified,” Martin Frojd, Head of Product Line Cloud & Data Platforms at Ericsson, explained.
