'Elementary' Season 4 Episode 17 Recap: “You’ve Got Me, Who’s Got You?”

Another mystery crime has been solved thanks to our master of deduction Mr. Sherlock Holmes alongside his partner Joan in the hit TV series ‘Elementary’. Want to know how they solve it? Read on for last Sunday’s recap of episode 17 titled “You’ve Got Me, Who’s Got You?”

This week’s episode of ‘Elementary’ circled around the duo tracking down the killer of a caped crusader who was shot dead outside of a bakery in Greenpoint. The dead superhero in question is the Midnight Ranger. He’s a hero from Superlative Comics, and someone had been infringing on their copyright, dressing up in the full costume, complete with body armor that was shot right through, and walking a beat where he busts drug dealers and small-time thieves.

But before they can start working on the case, they have to identify the dead man as there was identification card seen. Another thing is the fact that there are a number of possible suspects as he has been busy intercepting criminals plus he is technically infringing on Superlative’s copyright and a movie deal about the superhero, possibly giving someone motive to “take care” of the infringing party.

While Sherlock is reading through the whole run of Midnight Ranger comics hoping to find some sort of clue, one falls right into his lap — or rather, his roof. He gets a call from a man who says he knows the identity of the Midnight Ranger, and if Sherlock comes up to the roof, he’ll tell him right now. Thus, Sherlock comes across The Standard Bearer, another DIY hero of the city.

Through him alongside his genius mind and his partner Joan, Sherlock was able to track down the person responsible and it was Mr. Baxter, a man who harbored a lot of anger toward Superlative Comics and the way they took control of his grandfather’s legacy. A continuous drunk, Mr. Baxter decided he was going to massacre the whole office. And Mike Stratton, the caped crusader, was there to stop him and was shot in the process.

Kudos to Sherlock for yet another mystery solved. Joan, meanwhile, continued with her philanthropic doings as she received a huge amount of money from Morland in exchange for some favors. Joan closes out the episode by taking care of Morland’s business, despite Sherlock’s warnings that getting involved with him could be dangerous because the shooter he identified escaped from his Russian prison recently. Joan tells Morland that she can’t find any evidence of a mole within his staff, but that’s not the whole truth.
