SAN JOSE, Calif., May 02, 2017 -- Diamanti, creators of the first hyper-converged infrastructure appliance purpose-built for containerized applications, today announced it has been named a Cool Vendor based on the April 24, 2017 report titled “Cool Vendors for Compute Platforms, 2017” by Gartner analysts Andrew Butler, Philip Dawson, George Weiss, and Julia Palmer.
According to Gartner’s report, “In contrast to established HCIS vendors, which are increasingly partnering with system vendors to market solutions based on standard hardware, the new-generation vendors we have highlighted are committed to achieving success by investing in strategies that blend the need for customized and optimized hardware alongside an innovative software stack.”
At NBCUniversal, Diamanti increased application performance without code changes and allowed the media company to consolidate infrastructure while automating containerized application deployment by its development team. At MemSQL, Diamanti delivered operational automation for isolating workloads and storage volumes, workload prioritization with guaranteed performance, and rapid simulation of storage and networking scenarios for MemSQL test and development infrastructure.
“Containers represent a developer insurgency--and traditional IT infrastructure is too complex and slow to keep up with containers,” said Jeffrey Chou. “Diamanti is the first to combine the ease of use and low TCO of hyperconvergence with the performance and efficiency of bare-metal containers. Our technology is increasing developer productivity with shorter software release cycles and giving operations teams a powerful, self-service container infrastructure platform that accelerates digital transformation at modern enterprises.”
Diamanti has raised over $30M in funding from leading institutions including CRV, DFJ, GSR, Northgate Capital, Translink Capital, and Goldman Sachs. The company began shipping the industry’s first hyperconverged appliance for bare-metal container networking and storage in February 2017 after exiting stealth in April 2016 with a successful beta program.
