Czech retail sales growth accelerate firmly year-on-year in November

Czech Republic’s retail trade rose on a sequential basis in November. At constant prices, retail trade rose a seasonally adjusted 1.9 percent. After adjusted for calendar effects, sales rose 6.7 percent year-on-year, whereas non-adjusted sales grew 7.9 percent year-on-year, according to the Czech Statistical Office. In October, Czech retail trade had grown 2 percent year-on-year.

Increased interest of consumers in purchases of goods over the internet rose sales in retail sale through mail order houses or through internet by 32.3 percent. Sales were rising also in retail sale of information and communication equipment in specialized stores, of clothing and footwear, dispensing chemist, medical and orthopaedic goods etc. Sale of food also rose in retail sale of food, beverages and tobacco in specialised stores.

Seasonally adjusted sales for sale and repair of motor vehicles rose 2.5 percent sequentially. Adjusted for calendar effects, sales rose 6.5 percent year-on-year. Non-adjusted sales were up 9.9 percent. Sale of motor vehicles rose 11.6 percent year-on-year and for repair of motor vehicles sales rose 3.5 percent year-on-year.
