Czech jobless rate rises year-on-year in December

The Czech employment rate rose by 2 percentage point year-on-year to 72.8 percent in November on a seasonally adjusted basis, according to the Czech Statistical Office. The male employment rate came in at 79.9 percent, whereas the female employment rate came in at 65.5 percent, both seasonally adjusted. The employment rate of persons aged between 15 and 29 years came in at 48.6 percent, whereas in the age group between 30-49 years it came in at 87.3 percent.

Overall, Czech unemployment rate rose to 5.2 percent in November from 4.9 percent in October. The general jobless rate of the people aged 15-64 years reached 3.8 percent in November, a fall of 0.8 percentage point year-on-year. The male jobless rate came in at 3.2 percent, whereas the female unemployment rate was 4.5 percent.

The economic activity rate of the aged 15-64 years reached 75.6 percent and rose 1.5 percentage point year-on-year, stated Czech Statistical Office.
