Czech Republic’s producer prices remained low in August. On a sequential basis, the country’s industrial producer prices fell 0.2 percent in August, as compared with 0 percent in July. Agricultural producer prices dropped 0.5 percent, whereas construction work prices and market services prices remained unchanged.
Prices dropped particularly in ‘coke, refined petroleum products’. Prices of chemicals and chemical products also decline sequentially in the month. Other non-metallic mineral products’ amd mining and quarrying prices are declined. On the contrary, rise in prices was seen in basic metals, food products, fabricated metal products, tobacco and beverages. An estimate showed that prices of construction work and material input remained unchanged.
On year-on-year basis, industrial producer prices dropped 3.4 percent. Meanwhile, agricultural producer prices dropped 6.9 percent year-on-year, whereas construction work prices rose 0.9 percent. Market services prices grew 0.1 percent year-on-year.
Amongst industrial producers, lower prices were seen mainly in coke, refined petroleum products. Also, prices decreased in chemicals and chemical products, mining and quarrying. Amongst the main industrial groupings, energy prices dropped the most on year-on-year basis, falling 7.4 percent.
