Czech Institute Starts Accepting Tuition Fee In Bitcoin

CEVRO Starts Accepting Tuition Fee In Digital Currency Bitcoin

CEVRO, Czech School of law, economics, politics and security, has started accepting tuition fee for three master’s program in bitcoin. The tuition in bitcoins is calculated for the same amount based on bitcoin market exchange rate.

“[Y]ou can pay your tuition for CEVRO Institute’s PPE master’s program in bitcoins. We are among the first universities in the world which offer this choice to their students”, the announcement reads.

The institute is offering a unique, fully accredited and truly international Master's program in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE). Students can specialize in "Studies of Transition," "Austrian Economics" and "International Politics." Coinfox reported that all the programs are conducted in English, their teaching staff consisting of professors from the Czech Republic, Austria, Great Britain, the United States, Canada, and other countries.

“We do not want merely to teach about the beauty of markets, modern technologies and innovation, we want to be innovators ourselves! We want actively use most modern technologies and offer our students new opportunities which technologies made available,“ says professor Josef Šíma, president of CEVRO Institute and PPE Director.

The cost paid for the programs ranges from EUR 4,500 (for “home students” – from the Czech Republic and Slovakia) to EUR 8,400 (for international students). CEVRO is also offering scholarships based on merit and/or on financial need.

With this announcement, CEVRO Institute has joined the likes of University of Cumbria (UoC) and British King’s College. UoC became the first public university in the world to accept Bitcoin for payment of fees.
