Cryptobuyer installs two bitcoin ATMs on commercial bank in Panama City

Cryptobuyer, a Latin American digital assets company, announced that it has installed two bitcoin ATMs on a commercial bank premises in Panama City.

The announcement was made at the second event of the Panamanian Association of Fintech, which took place in the main facilities of Banistmo, second largest bank in Panama. The launch of bitcoin ATMs follows installation of two ATMs at Banismo Bank’s headquarters in Panama City. The ATMs also support Dash cryptocurrency in addition to bitcoin.

One of the event panels saw Daniel Diaz, Global Business Developer for Dash who exposed the advantages of this cryptocurrency. Another panel saw Yari Romero, CIO of CBChains.com, a consulting firm specializing in VC, Startups and consulting Blockchain, who highlighted the power of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) for private companies.

After the panel discussion, Cryptobuyer also announced the acceptance by the City of Knowledge of its request to join the Campus of that organization. City of Knowledge is a technology and innovation campus that comprises of over 180 companies and organizations including the UN, Copa Airlines, IESA and Hewlett Packard.

The company also said that it will develop Blockchain Academy Latam that will offer education, training and certificates to individuals and companies on the nascent technology.

Bitcoin ATMs are increasing across the globe that makes it easy to transact digital currencies. In April 2016, Dominican Republic got its first bitcoin ATM machine in the city of Santo Domingo. The machine is a two-way Lamassu bitcoin ATM that currently operates only for purchasing bitcoins. It accepts Dominican Peso (DOP) and sends bitcoins to a user’s wallet.
