WALDORF, Md., June 20, 2017 -- Community Bank of the Chesapeake is excited to announce its support of local educational institutions throughout Annapolis, Southern Maryland and Fredericksburg, Virginia, with funds raised through their Annual Casual for a Cause initiative. Community Bank’s Casual for a Cause offers employees a chance to dress business casual for the summer by making a donation. All proceeds raised this year will be donated to local educational organizations that serve Community Bank of the Chesapeake’s communities.

“Our Casual for a Cause program is a beloved tradition that helps the bank give back to its community. The cause is supported entirely by contributions from employees, who embrace the spirit of giving year after year,” said Diane Hicks, Vice President, Director of Marketing, Community Bank of the Chesapeake. “We chose to donate to educational institutions this year, as a thank you for all they do for our community. Casual for a Cause spans from May 1 through September 4, 2017. Employees participate by making a donation, which entitles them to dress business casual for the summer. Casual for a Cause donations totaled over $6,500 this year. The Bank will be donating to local educational institutions including Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s County Public Schools in Southern Maryland, the Arc Central Chesapeake Region in Annapolis, Maryland and Stafford Junction in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
The selected organizations strive to provide equal opportunities for all to receive quality education, support and the possibility to achieve goals. Through their dedication they provide programs, services and activities that help connect others and build strong individual characters, in order to prepare one for life.
