Carrie Underwood underwent surgery after an accident at her home late last year. She fell from the steps and needed 40 to 50 stitches to her face to close her wounds. The nasty fall forced her to undergo reconstructive surgery because she had no choice.
The “Cry Pretty” singer did not directly address her accident so fans did not get an update on how she looked after her fall. She reappeared months later and by then, her face was all healed already, without any trace of the surgery.
Now, earlier this week, she was a guest on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Of course, she was interviewed and it was the first time that Carrie Underwood openly talked about her accident and surgery.
Firstly, she admitted that she decided to speak out because she fears that fans would think she had the procedure for cosmetic purposes or to enhance her face. She added that she was also worried about what they would say when they noticed some difference in her current looks.
“My biggest worry at the time was like, if I say nothing, then later on… I feel like people are gonna say, ‘What has she done to herself electively?” she told Ellen. “And it definitely was not a choice.”
While there is no significant change in Carrie Underwoods’ face, she said that she does feel she looks a bit different but she feels more normal these days.
“I feel like I do look different a little bit,” she said. “I feel close to myself. I feel pretty close to normal.”
Meanwhile, a day after opening up about her accident, Carrie Underwood uploaded a video that shows her face up-close. The clip was posted on Instagram, and while many commented that she still looks the same, there were others who threw harsh words and said that she now looks nothing like the Carrie Underwood they knew, adding that it was “too much surgery.”
