Mitsuki will face one of the toughest challenges he has ever had in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 90. Mitsuki will fight Sekiei whom he made friends with during his entire journey to the Land of Earth.
After a very long arc about Mitsuki’s sudden disappearance and bizarre decision to join the clan of synthetic human in Land of Earth, his real motives were revealed. The entire arc revolved around learning what Mitsuki’s “will” is. And the events prior to “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 90 made it clear that his will is to do the right thing and remain loyal to the Hidden Leaf Village and his team.
Unfortunately, not everyone is pleased with Mitsuki doing the right thing, especially Sekiei in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 90. The latter has repeatedly shown before that he has the capacity to feel emotions, to make friends, and think about the right thing to do. However, all those are thrown out of the window because of Mitsuki’s betrayal.
To avenge Lord Ku and make Mitsuki pay for the betrayal, Sekiei vows to extract Mitsuki’s heart and use it for the completion of his body. Before he can do that, obviously, a fierce fight needs to happen first in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 90.
If Mitsuki’s can have it his way, he would not want to fight Sekiei. He knows how this fight will affect his friend. Unfortunately, Sekiei is fixated on punishing Mitsuki that he might not be able to stop himself from attacking Team 7 in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 90.
Meanwhile, there are several factors that hint at the looming end of the Mitsuki Disappearance arc. “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 90 is likely the penultimate installment. Aside from Mitsuki and Sekiei’s battle, the Fourth Tsuchikage leading the other Hidden Stone shinobis presumably to fight Lord Ku’s forces. Catch the new episode on Jan. 20.
