As the Mitsuki’s Disappearance arc comes to an end, “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 90 will offer another intense battle sequence. But, this will not be like any other fight. It happens between Mitsuki and Sekiei, who managed to build a friendship since they took the former from the Hidden Leaf village.
“Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 90 is simply titled “Mitsuki and Sekiei,” which already hints that the two characters will be in the spotlight. Unfortunately, their friendship turns sour after it was revealed that Mitsuki has been loyal to Hidden Leaf all this time.
The preview for “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 90 featured a dialogue between Mitsuki and Sekiei along with snippets of their battle. The typically smiling and child-like artificial human is seen with immense anger and promised to fight Mitsuki until he gets his heart.
Despite Sekiei being a creation of Ku, the “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 90 synopsis (via OrganicDinosaur) hints that Mitsuki still honors their friendship. The preview shows Mitsuki still being concerned about Sekiei’s well-being and asks him not to fight because his artificial body might not be able to handle it.
Mitsuki will attempt to stop Sekiei from attacking them any further. However, a friend’s betrayal is hard to overlook and can be a powerful motivation to fight. This means that “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 90 might not end well for Sekiei, especially considering that Mitsuki is reunited with Sarada and Boruto.
The events prior to “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 90 are some of the most exciting parts of the current arc. Just as when Mitsuki was thought to be handing Lord Ku his would-be heart, it was revealed as just decoy made up of snakes and the Hidden Leaf ninja attacks the leader of the synthetic humans. It was followed by a sequence of ambush attacks to shut down the Akuta factory, freeing of the Hidden Stone village shinobis, and Onoki’s escape.
“Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 90 will air on Sunday, Jan. 20. It will be followed by the arc finale, which could feature Onoki’s sacrifice.
