'Blue Lock' Season 2 Release Date, Cast and Spoilers: Everything We Know So Far

Here is everything we know about the upcoming "Blue Lock" Season 2.

Many fans are now excited about the upcoming “Blue Lock” Season 2. Besides a second installment, the high-scoring soccer anime series has also been confirmed to have a spin-off movie.

“Blue Lock” Season 1 ran from October 2022 to March 2023. The animation covered 11 volumes (about 90 chapters) of the manga, which was first published in 2018. Here is everything we know so far about the imminent “Blue Lock” Season 2.

Blue Lock’ Season 2 Release Date

If “Blue Lock” Season 2 covers the same amount of source material as Season 1, viewers may not have to wait long, per Digital Spy. There are currently 24 volumes of the manga accessible, implying that there is just enough story for a second season to be produced.

Season 2 is officially in the works, although it's unknown how long it will take. If we were to predict, avid followers of the anime series wouldn't expect “Blue Lock” Season 2 to be released before autumn 2024.

To recall, a few months following the confirmation of “Blue Lock” Season 2, the show's official accounts revealed that a spin-off film titled “Blue Lock: Episode Nagi” would be released in Japan in spring 2024.

The film will center on Seishiro Nagi, one of the original show's main protagonists, as the title suggests. It can be recalled that Nagi was a disconnected and depressed teen at the start of the show, only to become one of its strongest competitors after a rivalry with Isagi kindled a desire to win.

Blue Lock’ Season 2 Cast

Fans anticipate that the bulk of the main voice cast will return for “Blue Lock” Season 2, per The Direct, including Yoichi Isagi voiced by Kazuki Ura (Japanese) and Ricco Fajardo (English); Meguru Bachira voiced by Kaito Tasuku (Japanese) and Drew Breedlove (English); Jinpachi Ego voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya (Japanese) and Derick Snow (English); Seishiro Nagi voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki (Japanese) and Bryson Baugus (English); Shōei Barō voiced by Junichi Suwabe (Japanese) and Matthew David Rudd (English); Hyoma Chigiri voiced by Soma Saito (Japanese) and Aaron Dismuke (English); Rin Itoshi voiced by Kouki Uchiyama (Japanese) and Matt Shipman (English); Jyubei Aryu voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi (Japanese) and Bradley Gareth (English); Aoshi Tokimitsu voiced by Shinnosuke Tachibana (Japanese) and Jordan Dash Cruz (English), and; Rensuke Kunigami voiced by Yuuki Ono (Japanese) and Alex Hom (English).

Blue Lock’ Season 2 Spoilers

Season 1 adapted half of the already released source manga, implying that “Blue Lock” Season 2 would most likely adapt volumes 12-23. This means that there are lots of details on what Season 2 might cover for eager fans.

The core players advance to the Third Selection following the events of “Blue Lock” Season 1. The best 35 players in the program must compete to form a team of eleven, which will eventually face Japan's national Under 20 team. The manga's events become much crazier after the 'U-20' arc! Without giving too much away, it turns out that Ego has much grander plans for testing his players' abilities, including a massive worldwide, broadcast competition.
