Gem, a leading blockchain platform provider, has announced the appointment of David George as its Chief Commercial Officer, who will be responsible for all aspects of business development, sales and marketing at the growing Silicon Beach-based company.

George, an industry veteran, brings 23 years of experience in commercial strategy for enterprise software and critical growth stage startups to Gem. He has worked in cloud services, SaaS, security, digital identity, and healthcare platforms and looks forward to applying these insights to blockchain technology.

Earlier this year, Gem closed an additional $7.1 million in Series A funding and has been growing rapidly. In April, they announced their first enterprise customer with Philips Blockchain Lab. George will play a prominent role as the company continues to build momentum around their platform, GemOS.

George will make his first public appearance as Chief Commercial Officer at the Distributed:Health conference in Nashville, TN on October 3, 2016. Gem is the title sponsor of the event, a first-of-its-kind conference exploring the edge of innovation in healthcare.
