Blockchain firm Factom releases next version of software ‘Factom Federation network’

Factom, a blockchain-based data management solution, has announced the release of the next version of its software ‘Factom Federation network’.

The company spent past years in developing and testing its decentralized and federated blockchain and is now sharing it. The design and features of this software release represent the next generation in the evolution of the Factom blockchain.

“It has been inspiring and affirming to have a large community of like-minded individuals that have supported us as we built this amazing technology,” Paul Snow, Co-founder and Chief Architect of Factom Foundation, said in the release.

‘Factom Federation network’ is the second major release of Factom blockchain software and includes various protocol changes and a networking change that gives us the ability to further upgrade. The upgrading can be done in ‘Eight Federated Servers’ with increased censorship resistance and globally distributed, ‘Eight Auditing Servers’ with 8 new servers supporting the network, ‘Confirmations In Seconds Instead of Minutes’ with 600x improvement, ‘More Transactions Per Second’ with 5x improvement, ‘ Support For Multiple Blockchain’ with bitcoin and Ethereum network, among others.

The new version of software is a significant upgrade from Factom Genesis. “We will be rolling out Factom Federation and migrating our users, clients, and customers over the next few weeks,” the company stated.
