The Blockchain Education Network, a non-profit college cryptocurrency network, has announced that it is hosting the Chicago Airdrop that will distribute free bitcoins to students in Chicago for educational purposes.

According to the Facebook post, the Chicago Airdrop will be split into 3 major sections, first, traveling to 4 different Chicago universities including University of Chicago, Illinois Tech, DePaul, and the University of Illinois at Chicago in order to hand over free bitcoin to all students. It will also help students to set up their first wallet, and talk about how and where to use bitcoin.

Secondly, the students who are unable to meet the Airdrop team in their campuses will have the option to tune into radio.iit.edu, which will host a special bitcoin broadcast day. During the day, DJs will keep students up to date on the Airdrop’s traveling entourage; have guests talk about various bitcoin and blockchain topics. It will also feature trivia games where students can call in to win bitcoins.

Thirdly, after the Chicago Airdrop session in universities, the entourage will come back to Illinois Tech and will host an event – “Bitcoin 101” where students can ask questions, learn where to spend the newly acquired bitcoin, participate and win bitcoins in the games during the event.
