‘Blindspot’ is set to air its first season’s finale next week with its complete season DVD set to be released on August 2. The American crime-drama television series created by Martin Gero stars Jaimie Alexander of ‘Thor’ fame and Sullivan Stapleton of ‘300: Rise of an Empire’ as “Jane Doe” and Special Agent Kurt Weller, respectively.

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, the season finale will see Jane through a confrontation and a brutal showdown where she rises as the victor. The promo teased that her identity may finally be revealed after Jane demands that there be “no more secrets, no more lies”.

Jane was introduced into the series as an unidentified woman found naked and in a state of oblivion in Time Square. She is kept under protective custody following an investigation on her identity headed by FBI agent Kurt Weller. She is suspected to be a former Navy SEAL although this remains unconfirmed.

Meanwhile, Kurt is also called under investigation upon evidence that his name is tattooed on Jane’s body. He becomes overly protective of the woman after suspecting that she may be his childhood friend Taylor Shaw, who disappeared 25 years ago and was presumed dead.

According to an interview on Entertainment Weekly, Gero teased that the season finale will take unexpected turns. He said, “[The finale] is the first episode where there’s not a single shot fired. That’s how much is going on emotionally.”

It was teased that as Kurt continues his search for answers, he is confronted by his father’s deathbed confession of murdering Taylor and burying her body in a play fort. Kurt then takes his sister Sarah (Jordana Spiro) with him to do some digging and uncover where the body was allegedly buried.

Meanwhile, the complete first season DVD and Blu-Ray box set is set to contain behind-the-scenes featurettes, with some devoted to the series’ main characters. The other featurettes will delve into the production phase.

‘Blindspot’ is scheduled to air its 23rd and final episode for the season on NBC on May 23, 2016.
