Anyone who has spent some time playing “Biomutant” since its launch last week might agree that the game’s narrator tends to talk too much. Luckily, developer Experiment 101 confirmed that “narrator settings” is one of the things they are working on for the action RPG’s upcoming patch.
In less than a week after the game’s release, Experiment 101 announced on Twitter that it is already preparing the first post-launch patch for “Biomutant.” Aside from the needed bug fixes, the studio said it will include “changes based on community feedback.”
So far, Experiment 101 said the gameplay elements that the upcoming “Biomutant” update will address are “pacing of dialogues, narrator settings, difficulty settings, video settings like depth of field and motion blur, loot and enemy tuning as well as sound and combat.” There was no release date or launch window mentioned for the patch, but the studio said it is hoping to deliver the updates soon.” PC players will “most likely” receive the update before it lands on console platforms.
We are working on an update for #Biomutant which we will hope to get into players' hands soon.

Most likely we will be able to deliver the update to PC platforms first and then to consoles.
The update will include bug fixes and changes based on community feedback.
The narrator settings are quite an interesting item on the upcoming “Biomutant” patch. As mentioned, one of the common complaints “Biomutant” players have about the game is how much the narrator is involved in their every move in the open world game. The “Biomutant” narrator does way more than saying things about a player’s milestone or rewards, it also acts as a translator for the player and the creatures they encounter in the Tree of Life.
Some players even wrote on their Steam reviews that they had the best experience playing “Biomutant” when they set the narrator settings to the lowest. This can be done by pausing the game and proceeding to the audio settings menu. Under the “Frequency” section, there is a 0-100 slider for the narrator and gibberish that players can set to zero.
However, Kotaku reports that even when set to zero, the narrator will still weigh in on the player’s conversation and speak up when they unlock special items. So it is interesting to see what Experiment 101 means by updating the narrator settings on “Biomutant.”
“Biomutant” was released last May 25 on Windows PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The game is currently playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S through backward compatibility. Next-gen upgrades are confirmed, but Experiment 101 has yet to announce a release schedule.
