'Berlin' Release Date, Cast and Spoilers: Everything Fans Should Know About This 'Money Heist' Spin-off

Here is everything we know so far about the upcoming "Berlin" series on Netflix.

“Berlin” is a “Money Heist” spin-off web series that will premiere soon on Netflix. For starters, “Money Heist” is without a doubt one of the most successful Netflix web series of all time, and Berlin has become a fan favorite.

The fictional character Berlin died in “Money Heist,” but Netflix has decided to portray his biography in its upcoming web series. Alex Pina, the series creator, frequently hinted at the prospect of increasing the series' ensemble of characters. As a result, it should come as no surprise to fans that “Berlin” is taking place.

“Money Heist” is fantastic in every manner, including cinematography and instantly recognizable clothing, and fans of the program should expect the same level of excellence in the upcoming spin-off. The depth, complexity, and diversity of the characters, as well as the plot's many twists, enthralled the audience. While fans wait for additional information, here is everything we know about Netflix's impending “Berlin” series.

Berlin’ Release Date

“Berlin” will premiere on December 29, 2023, according to Netflix, per EpicFlix. The imminent web series is said to have begun filming on September 24, 2022, and is slated to be released in December.

As the last installment of the original series, which appeared on Netflix in two parts in 2021, approached, whispers of a “Money Heist” spinoff began to circulate. Series creator Alex Pina had even hinted at the prospect of expanding on characters introduced in the original series on multiple occasions.

Before “Berlin” was confirmed, Alex told Oprah Daily that he was open to a spin-off. “We do have many possibilities for some spinoffs, yes, and I think that’s thanks to the strong and powerful identities of the characters. We’ve always looked for characters to have a very complex, layered design. So I think almost every character of Money Heist has a duality that we would like to see in a spinoff. We could watch any of them in other contexts,” he stated.

Berlin’ Cast

The studio had previously revealed the new group of people that aided Berlin in his goal long before he joined the main “Money Heist” series masked robbery team. Pedro Alonso, commonly known as Berlin, has already been given permission to reprise his character in the next prequel series.

Netflix released a video introducing the other “Berlin” characters. Joel Sanchez plays Bruce, Tristan Ulloa plays Damian, Julio Pea plays Roi, Begoa Vargas plays Cameron, and Michelle Jenner plays Keila.

As a prequel, there is still a chance that some of the original cast members, such as Alvaro Morte as El Profesor, Rodrigo de la Serna as Palermo, and Diana Gomez as Tatiana, will reprise their roles in “Berlin.” More names are expected to be added to the list in the coming months by the American streaming behemoth.

Alex Pina, who signed a deal with Netflix in July 2018 and renewed it in March 2022, will apparently be working on “Berlin” through his production firm, Vancouver Media. Atresmedia is also named among the production companies involved in the upcoming series.

Berlin’ Spoilers

Many fans admired Berlin's personality. Following the Season 2 conclusion, the writer assassinated Berlin in order to safeguard those involved in the robbery. He remained alive through flashbacks due to his previous interactions with other gang members.

The majority, if not all, of the fans are aware that Berlin was the mastermind behind the crime. Despite the fact that the character's past was detailed in Season 5, viewers know relatively little about him. Tatiana, played by Diana Gomez, is one of his five ex-wives. He referred to his relationships in the series as the "five times he believed in love."

Given that Berlin and The Professor are siblings, the upcoming series will most likely focus on their early years together. There is also no information concerning their father's death or how Berlin met Palermo, his secret mistress, Marsella, and Bogota, which could be addressed in the future Money Heist spin-off.

The “Berlin” series could possibly expose the character's theft at Paris' Champs-Élysées, where he took 434 diamonds. With Helmer Myopathy, fans may learn more about his terrible blood.

Fortunately, fans were able to hear Pedro Alonso and Alex Pina discuss the new spinoff series at Netflix's Tudum event in 2022. When asked about the next series, Alex stated that it will revolve around "love and heists."
