Barron Trump turned 14 years old on Friday, but he wasn’t able to go out and celebrate because he and his entire family are on self-quarantine.
But in order to make the teenager’s birthday as normal as possible, his mom, Melania Trump posted a simple but meaningful greeting on Twitter. Barron’s half-siblings, Don Jr. and Tiffany Trump also shared adorable photos of themselves with Barron from years ago.
However, Barron’s dad, Donald Trump, didn’t greet him on his social media account. It is unlikely that the POTUS actually forgot his son’s birthday. But it is possible that he didn’t have the time to greet him on Twitter because he’s dealing with the coronavirus outbreak.
Still, Trump’s alleged snub did not sit well with a lot of people who expressed their sympathies to Barron.
“To be fair to Donald Trump, he wasn’t aware that Friday was Barron’s birthday,” Twitter user @KidCigar said.
“Barron’s father, President Donald Trump, has had his hands tied managing the public health crisis and has yet to wish his youngest son a happy birthday on social media. Barron’s father is also not practicing any sort of ‘social distancing,’” Twitter user @CraftWorkshopUK said.
“You would think the press would say Happy Birthday to Barron Trump. I didn’t see anything. Sad. Another President. I’m sure another story or if he was still citizen Donald Trump and wasn’t busy saving the world,” Twitter user @Christina17824 said.
“Do you think Donald remembered Melania’s son’s birthday?” Twitter user @JohnBar70752761 said.
Meanwhile, Donald doesn’t seem to have a close relationship with Barron. During a previous interview at the White House, the POTUS referred to his teenage son as Melania’s son.
At that time, Trump was talking about the dangers of vaping and he revealed how the FLOTUS became involved with the cause. He said that the first lady became involved because she’s got a son.
The remark surprised Americans because Barron is the son of the POTUS and Melania.
