Asian markets turn positive after U.S. presidential debate, gold marginally lower

Today Asian markets were highly volatile due to the first U.S. presidential debate. Gold and silver were also moving in both the directions. Currencies as well as stock markets were affected by this debate. Mexican peso extends gains, up more than 1 percent vs U.S. dollar and USD/JPY erases earlier losses, up 0.4 pct on the day. Silver was trading around $19.40 and gold was trading around $1,335 marks.

Japan’s Nikkei was trading around 0.23 percent higher at 16,582.24 points.

South Korea’s Kospi was trading around 0.53 percent higher at 2,058.11 points.

Shanghai composite index to open down 0.2 pct at 2,974.59 points and China's CSI300 index to open down 0.2 pct at 3,214.87 points.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng was trading 0.97 percent higher at 23,543.24 points.

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 was trading 0.52 percent lower at 5,403.10 points.
