“Scream Queens” Star Billie Lourd is set to collaborate with show creator Ryan Murphy for a second time, thanks to her confirmed casting in the latter’s upcoming seventh season of “American Horror Story.”
Deadline reports that Lourd is expected to lead alongside Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, who are longtime veterans of the anthology series, and new addition, comedian Billy Eichner.
Season 7 of “American Horror Story” is expected to begin production in May, but details about it are quite scarce. NME quoted Murphy, who said before that it will be a “modern-day story” about the 2016 Presidential Election.
Although it will be difficult to deduce who would play who, the renowned producer and show creator previously told E! that fans should not easily believe in rumors, especially those of Paulson to play as Hillary Clinton.
He said, "And I wanted to clarify that that is not true. Horror Story is always about allegory, so the election is allegory. It's our jumping off point. It is about the election we just went through and what happened on that night and the fallout of that night, which to many people, from all sides of the camps is a horror story. And you know, that show is always so fun when it's about the zeitgeist and what we're doing now."
Moreover, Lourd’s casting is also putting the fate of her other show into question. Murphy has since released co-star Lea Michele from “Scream Queens” as it has been announced that she has been cast in an ABC comedy pilot. With Lourd starring in “American Horror Story”’s seventh season, it may mean that the FOX series might not be returning for Season 3.
