“American Horror Story” Casts “Arrow” Alum Colton Haynes For Presidential Election Themed Season 7: Will He Play A “Sinister” Role In The Series?

Early this week, “American Horror Story” creator Rya Murphy shared a photo on Instagram, announcing a new cast member for Season 7.

The photo is actor Colton Haynes, a former “Arrow” star and was last seen doing a couple of episodes for Murphy’s other TV series, “Scream Queens.” In the photo, Haynes is seen sporting blonde hair, and has red lipstick smeared all over his face.

Haynes had regrammed the photo of him, and added a caption which read, “American Horror Story Season 7...Already feels like home :) So excited @mrrpmurphy

Deadline said Haynes is the latest actor recruited for the anthology series’ mysterious Season 7. Haynes will be joined by Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, Billy Eichner, and show veterans Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters. Season 7, however, will be set in the aftermath of the recent presidential election, and that the first episode will take place on Election Night. However, Murphy has since shared some renderings of a couple of creepy characters, no doubt for the series.

Just last month, Murphy debuted a monster that looked like a demonic Twisty the Clown-elephant creature. The other one, which was shared in mid-May, was less scary: a photo of a person’s back of the head, with the hair dyed blue.

Interestingly, Comicbook.com said the Twisty the Clown-elephant creature bears a similarity to Haynes’ look on Instagram. Liam Nolan for the site points out that the two bore the same striking red lipstick, which hints a possibility that Haynes might be playing a sinister role in the series.
