HOUSTON, April 25, 2018 -- Alert Logic, the leading provider of Security-as-a-Service solutions, today announced that Alert Logic Cloud Insight, the industry’s first cloud- and AWS-native vulnerability and exposure management solution, has achieved Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security Competency Solutions status in the Configuration and Vulnerability Analysis category. This competency designation recognizes Cloud Insight’s technical strength and proven success helping companies assess AWS configuration exposures, identify software vulnerabilities, and gain actionable, prioritized remediation guidance.

The AWS Competency Program recognizes members of the AWS Partner Network (APN) for their deep expertise on AWS, their proven ability to help customers unlock the full range of AWS business benefits, and their capacity to enable companies at any stage of the cloud adoption journey. This is Alert Logic’s third AWS competency designation. In addition to Cloud Insight’s Configuration and Vulnerability category distinction, Alert Logic Cloud Defender, an integrated suite of managed security infrastructure and monitoring services, achieved AWS competency status in the categories of Infrastructure Security and eCommerce.
“Alert Logic Cloud Insight provides customers with continuous configuration checks and vulnerability scanning, providing customers visibility into account level exposures, assets and the vulnerabilities on those assets as they unleash the speed and agility of the AWS platform,” said Misha Govshteyn, Senior Vice President of Product and Marketing for Alert Logic. “The agentless, API-driven solution launches in minutes providing clear, easy-to-understand remediation recommendations. This competency designation gives AWS customers easy access to Cloud Insight, ensuring that their account and assets are optimally configured and patched without missing a beat.”
Architected specifically to support AWS, Cloud Insight helps users continuously identify and fix configurations of their AWS environments that don’t meet AWS security best practices. Cloud Insight also allows users to respond quickly to Amazon GuardDuty findings by prioritizing and providing recommendations for initial response actions and longer-term configuration changes that can prevent future attacks on AWS workloads.
IT professionals at global retailer Rent-A-Center, with more than 3,000 stores across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, report peace of mind with the increased visibility from Alert Logic and AWS cloud management tools.
“With multiple IT and business groups on AWS, we need to be able to understand what they’re doing and where our data resides,” says Gary Sprague, Director of Information Security at Rent-A-Center. “Using Alert Logic, we can see if someone has inadvertently made a change that creates an exposure.”
Rent-A-Center employs Alert Logic solutions to protect its on-premises data centers as well as Cloud Defender and Cloud Insight to protect its cloud applications and cloud workloads.
“Using Alert Logic on AWS provides cost-effective, 24/7 security coverage of our entire environment, the equivalent of six full-time security employees,” says Sprague. “Those resources can now be used to create better services and experiences.”
