‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ is set to feature the return of John Boyega’s Finn, a former First Order Stormtrooper who left to fight with the Resistance. It was reported that Finn will be recovering from his wounds in the upcoming film through the use of bacta and will rise as one of the key players of the Resistance.
According to Nerdist, Boyega’s reformed Stormtropper will be recovering from battle wounds inflicted by Kylo Ren through the use of technology known as bacta. Boyega’s Finn was last seen in ‘Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens’ injured and left behind by Rey as she goes in pursuit of Luke Skywalker.
It was reported that Finn would recuperate through the use of a “bubble suit”, presumably bacta. According to Games Radar, bacta was first seen on big screen during a sequence in George Lucas’ original film ‘The Empire Strikes Back’. In the scene, Luke was dunked in a big vat of the substance in order to heal his injuries. It seems that Rian Johnson’s upcoming film will feature the same for Finn.
Finn’s fate seems uncertain in the ‘Star Wars’ universe of films but it was rumored that his involvement in the Resistance would be a major one. Following his recovery, he is set to embark on a journey that would lead him to play a big role on the fight against the Empire.
Meanwhile, ‘The Force Awakens’ director J.J. Abrams shared his two cents on Kylo Ren’s state of mind during the death of Han Solo.
According to Screen Rant, Abrams said in a commentary included in the film’s special collector’s edition 3D Blue-Ray, “People have asked me if I think Kylo Ren was just playing with him the whole time, if he meant to kill him from the beginning. And the truth is, I think Kylo Ren in this moment is actually being convinced to walk away from this. Snoke is, as Han says, using him, and I think that somewhere Ben knows this. But I think that he can’t accept it. Deep down he has gone too far.”
Adam Driver is set to reprise his role as Supreme Leader Snoke's loyal servant Kylo Ren in Johnson’s upcoming follow-up. Joining him in the returning cast are Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, and Carrie Fisher.
‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ is an upcoming action-adventure and fantasy film scheduled to be released on December 15, 2017. It is written and directed by Rian Johnson and is produced by Ram Bergman and Kathleen Kennedy. J.J. Abrams, Tommy Harper, and Jason D. McGatlin are executive producing.
