Dr Jim Taylor is the coordinator of the KwaZulu-Natal Regional Centre of Expertise. He is passionate about citizen science and his key interest areas are education for sustainable development (ESD), indigenous knowledge practices. social change and sustainability, evaluation, learning and transformation.
He is a former president of the Environmental Education Association of Southern Africa and founder member of the Southern African Development Community Regional Environmental Education Programme. This programme supported ESD course development in 15 southern African countries. He is an honorary life member of the Wildlife & Environment Society of South Africa. Jim is active in the work of Unesco, where he is an advisor to the ASPNet teacher capacity building programme. He is also with the United Nations University Regional Center of Expertise in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
