Carlos Salvador Zepeda Cast

Research Associate in Development Studies, University of Portsmouth
Dr. Zepeda is a Development Studies researcher with more than a decade’s experience working on the politics of sustainable human development in Latin America, especially on those related to water governance in Central America. At the University of Portsmouth, Dr. Zepeda works as Research Associate in Development Studies and part-time Human-Development Tutor for the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO, Argentina). Dr. Zepeda collaborates lecturing for Development Economics, Economics & Politics of Development and Global Environmental Issues and Concerns. Dr. Zepeda’s research interests focus on how social power shapes poor and vulnerable people’s sustainable development. His Ph.D. in Politics & International Studies, University of Warwick explored the ‘Water Politics in El Salvador’ (2015) and drew on his experience working as Central America’s Political Advocacy Officer for OXFAM (2007-2010) leading campaigns on Social Justice and the Human Right to Water. Dr. Zepeda holds an MA in Politics of Alternative Development at ISS, Erasmus University of Rotterdam, The Netherlands (2005-2006). In parallel to his doctoral research on the politics of water governance, Dr. Zepeda has supported Global Governance and Democracy projects at the University of Warwick (2010-2015). Dr. Zepeda holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Development from Valencia University, Spain (2004 -2005) and a BA in Economics from the University of Central America where he has also worked as a Researcher and Lecturer in Development Economics (2001-2004).
