Alistair Scott

Associate Professor of Film and Television School of Arts and Creative Industries, Edinburgh Napier University
Alistair Scott is Associate Professor Film and Television. He was Subject Group Leader for Photography, Film & Television 2009-2016. In 2015 he also took the role of Director of Screen Academy Scotland, the Creative Skillset Film Academy, which is a partnership between Edinburgh Napier University and Edinburgh College of Art.

He has been teaching in higher education since 2005 following a career working in film and television. After graduating from the University of St Andrews, with MA (Hons) in Modern History, he worked in the field of community arts as a documentary film-maker. After full-time post-graduate training at the National Film & Television School, Beaconsfield, he spent over 25 years working as a director and producer for the BBC, Channel 4 and Scottish Television. He joined Edinburgh Napier University as a Visiting Lecturer in 2005, acting as an industry consultant for the original bid to establish the Screen Academy. From 2006-9 he was Lecturer in Screen Media at the University of the West of Scotland.
