Hugh McLachlan

Professor Emeritus of Applied Philosophy, Glasgow Caledonian University

I was, until my retirement in September, 2016 Professor of Applied Philosophy at Glasgow Caledonian Univeristy. I taught, in particular, classical sociological theory and medical ethics. I was the external examiner for the MA in Medical Ethics and Palliative Care at Keele University.

I have published widely in academic journals. I have also published numerous journalistic articles in, for instance, New Humanist, New Scientist and, most frequently in The Scotsman.

My publications include the following books in the areas of the history of Scottish witchcraft, medial ethics and social philosophy:
