I started my academic career working under Dr. Flavio Kapczinski’s supervision in my PhD in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (2010). Afterwards, I joined the Department of Psychiatry of the Federal University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, as a faculty member, where I had clinical and supervisory activities (specifically in the field of early stages of BD and Psychosis). In 2019, I joined the Department of Psychiatry at Queen’s University as Full Professor. At Queen’s, I initiated the first program in Nutritional Psychiatry in Canada, conducting both observational and interventional studies. Throughout my career, I co-authored 283 documents which were cited more than 7,400 times with and H-Index of 43 (Scopus). I mentored or co-mentored 17 undergraduate students, 21 MSc/PhD students and 5 post-doctoral fellows.
