Lecturer in Management (SPRU), University of Sussex
Dr. Josh Siepel is Lecturer in Management at SPRU. He researches and teaches in the areas of management, entrepreneurship, innovation and entreprenial finance and policy. He has over eight years experience working in these areas, including projects funded by BIS, ESRC, NESTA, the British Venture Capital Association and the EU. He did a PhD at SPRU on the development of the venture capital sectors in the US and the UK, which he undertook as a Marshall Scholar. He has an MSc in Science Policy from SPRU and a BS in Genetics from Texas A&M University.
Community and Business
Dr Siepel is actively involved in sharing practice and academic insight to policy practioners and businesses. He delivers workshops to policymakers at the local, regional and national level on how recent understandings of how small firms operate and grow, and how these may be fed into policy interventions. He is also involved in a number of partnerships with local goverment and other partners to support growth, including evaluation of the Wave 2 Growth Hubs programme.
