He is also a Research Affiliate with the Center for the Study of Democracy at University of California, Irvine. Vahid’s primary research focus is on democratization and authoritarian decay with a regional focus on the Middle East. He currently teaches courses on Middle East Politics, International Relations, American Foreign Policy, and International Law.
