James is a consultant psychiatrist and associate professor who holds a conjoint position with the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute and the Metro North Mental Health Service. He conducts clinical and epidemiological research into mental illness afflicting children and adolescents. He leads a programme of research which encompasses bullying prevention, clinical trials and studies of the immune basis of neuropsychiatric disorders.
