CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Oct. 17, 2017 -- Zagster, the nation’s leading provider of public and public/private bike share systems, today announced that the Association for Commuter Transportation has named Zagster CEO Timothy Ericson to its “40 Under 40” list of top transportation professionals.
The ACT award recognizes “ambitious leaders who are working to find creative solutions to improve quality of life of commuters and the livability of communities.” For Ericson, that means guiding a company that pioneered smart-bike technology — an app-based model that reduces the cost and complexity of bike sharing — which enabled the service to reach new communities and riders. Today, Zagster operates more than 200 programs in 35 states — more than any other provider.

The selection of Ericson comes in a wave of growth and success for the bike sharing company. Last year, Zagster achieved 300 percent growth in implemented programs; 400 percent growth in deployed bikes; and 300 percent growth in staff. Earlier this year, Zagster closed a $10 Million Series B Round of Funding led by Edison Partners, a leading growth equity capital firm. The company also launched a new mobile app that simplifies and improves the overall user experience for the company’s 100,000 riders nationwide.
