TARRYTOWN, N.Y., Sept. 01, 2017 -- Westcon-Comstor announced today that its parent company, Datatec Limited, has completed the sale of its North America and Latin America distribution business (“Americas”), as well as a minority share in its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC) business, to SYNNEX Corporation (NYSE:SNX), a Fremont, California-based company.
Westcon-Comstor Americas, a SYNNEX company, will continue to rely on the expertise and experience of the current Westcon-Comstor Americas team to grow the business. Meanwhile, Datatec retains majority shareholder interest in the new Westcon-Comstor International business to serve EMEA and APAC.
“The successful completion of this transaction allows us to continue developing best-in-class programs that accelerate business outcomes for all our partners and better align our resources toward creating new opportunities for growth in the regions we serve together with SYNNEX,” said Jens Montanana, CEO of Datatec and Westcon-Comstor International.
The combined strength of SYNNEX and Westcon-Comstor Americas creates a unique environment in which both companies can leverage each other’s expertise, products, and services. The new relationship ensures that vendor partners and solution providers receive the same excellent levels of service they have long enjoyed with no disruptions.
“I’d like to thank the respective boards of directors, shareholders, and all our associates and partners for their support while the transaction was completed,” said Kevin Murai, president and CEO of SYNNEX. “Our combined portfolios will benefit both vendors and solution providers, creating an efficient, powerful IT distribution company capable of delivering the latest technology solutions virtually anywhere in the world.”
