“Wentworth” Season 7 is expected to come out sometime between April and June if its previous release schedules are anything to go by. Entries one through five dropped in either April or May, while the sixth installment was released in June – the first time for the crime drama series.
It’s important to note, however, that this schedule is applicable for Australian audiences. For Netflix subscribers, they can expect to watch “Wentworth” Season 7 on the streaming platform in late summer or early fall, Netflix Life reported. There’s usually two to three months’ gap between the network and streaming platform release patterns.
For instance, if “Wentworth” Season 7 mimics the premiere schedule of the sixth entry – which was in June – fans can expect it to drop on Netflix this August or September. With the latest finale ending in a cliffhanger, the hype for the show is reaching new heights.
Rita (Leah Purcell) fighting Drago (Natalia Novikova) has now opened up the possibility of the former taking up The Freak (Pamela Rabe). Meanwhile, Vera (Kate Atkinson) will be having a baby in “Wentworth” Season 7. This will be a defining moment for the character as it will pave the way in how she’s going to be a mother.
To complicate matters further, the father of Vera’s child is Jake (Bernard Curry), the very man she detests. And then there’s also the murder of Niles Jesper (Tony Nikolakopoulos) to consider. With all these unresolved plotlines, it’s no wonder that “Wentworth” Season 7 is attracting a lot of attention.
Indeed, being an Australian show and having a large American following is a testament to the show’s brilliance and authenticity in portraying women’s struggles behind bars. Executive producer Penny Win previously expressed his surprise as to how the series managed to be so successful both locally and internationally. And with the cast, crew, and writing team working hard on and off screen, “Wentworth” Season 7 is looking like another solid entry for the prison-based drama.
