Jennifer Lopez is heartbroken! This Lopez revealed when she guested on the Tuesday episode of Today Show. She shared that she was really disappointed that her wedding to former Major League Baseball (MLB) star Alex Rodriguez has been postponed indefinitely.
While Lopez has been vocal about not being in a hurry to tie the knot, reports state that the two had planned a lavish ceremony in Italy this summer.
However, that is now put on hold as announced by Lopez due to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.
While Lopez did not go into detail, she said that they had a great plan, which probably explains why she is heartbroken.
As for a new date, Lopez said there is no plan yet for a new one because it is uncertain as to when social distancing will last.
Ever since declaring the Covid-19 as a pandemic, the World Health Organization (WHO) has been urging everyone to stay at home and practice social distancing to stop the spread of the Covid-19. This means a big gathering is discouraged.
Lopez and Rodriguez got engaged in March of 2019 after dating for two years.
The 44-year-old MLB star had always been a fan of his 50-year-old fiancee, even posting a photo of Lopez, which he had her autographed 21 years ago in 1999 on his Instagram account. That was the first time they met.
They crossed paths for the second time in 2005 while Lopez was married to Marc Anthony. Rodriguez then was married to Cynthia Scurtis. They each have two children with their exes.
Lopez narrated on The Ellen DeGeneres show how she and Rodriguez met for the third time and connected. In March of 2017, Lopez said that she had seen Rodriguez passed by the restaurant where she was having lunch, and she had decided to say hello.
Rodriguez had then made the second move by giving Lopez a call that night and asking her out for dinner.
A month later, Lopez confirmed that they were dating when she posted a photo that showed her legs resting on the legs of a man whom everyone correctly assumed as that of Rodriguez while watching an MLB game on the TV.
After that, they have pretty much kept their relationship out in the open by constantly posting updates on their respective Instagram accounts.
While Lopez has been married three times, Rodriguez has only been married once but has a reputation of being a ladies' man.
