Victoria’s Secret announced it will now produce and sell intimate apparel specially designed for women with disabilities. This line has been called the Adaptive Collections and is a first of its kind from VS&Co.
According to CNN Business, Victoria’s Secret is launching bra and panty collections created to meet the needs of disabled women. This is the first time the brand is making something like this, as it aims to make life a bit easier for someone with physical impairment.
The VS & PINK Adaptive Line
The retailer of women’s lingerie unveiled its VS & PINK Adaptive Collection on Tuesday, Oct. 17. Victoria’s Secret is selling the items under this new line for $16.50 for panties and $36.95 for bras.
Customers may now get them in select store outlets across the United States. They are also available for purchase on the company’s official website. Shoppers can choose from a wide range of styles, shades, and sizes for both Pink and Victoria’s Secret brands, including their sub-product line - Wear Everywhere and Body, respectively.
Some of the distinct features of the intimate apparel include magnetic closures, convertible straps, and sensory-friendly fabric. Most of the items are fully adjustable as well to fit the user’s body.
GAMUT Seal of Approval
Victoria’s Secret shared it developed the VS & PINK Adaptive Collection with the assistance of GAMUT Management. The company consulted this firm that works for people with disabilities to create the right apparel based on special requirements. It was reported that Victoria's Secret and PINK are the first lingerie and underwear brands to have obtained the GAMUT Seal of Approval for intimates.
"Having VS and PINK Adaptive available in both Victoria's Secret and PINK's most popular collections, featuring easy wearability and comfort in such beautiful styles and colorways is incredible - and we are so proud to share them both online and in select stores to meet the needs of women with disabilities," Victoria’s Secret’s chief design officer, Janie Schaffer, said in a press release.
Mindy Scheier, GAMUT Management’s founder and chief, commented, "As the first intimates brand to earn the GAMUT Seal of Approval, we are honored to have partnered with Victoria's Secret and PINK throughout the creation of VS and PINK Adaptive to ensure an authentic approach of integrating women with disabilities throughout the go-to-market journey."
