Medina, Ohio, Feb. 02, 2018 -- Verified Vendor Band of Brothers Restoration LLC (DUNS #069047408) won their first government contract on January 23, 2018. The company anticipates performing on the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) contract for about two weeks. They received a $38,743 contract award to control erosion on a creek in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. The USDA deems it “emergency watershed protection” as Band of Brothers is responsible to “relieve imminent hazards to life and property due to a major flood event [that took place on] June 22-29, 2016”. (Solicitation # 12SPEC18B0005)
Band of Brothers Restoration LLC will supply all labor, materials, equipment and supervision on this “Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction” contract (NAICS 237 & 237990). The company also constructs and remodels homes as well as industrial buildings. Those complex tasks go hand in hand with their other North American Industry Classification System codes (NAICS) such as concrete foundation pouring, masonry, roofing, framing, and siding.
“We had many questions because it was our first government contract,” Geno Conley, the company CEO stated. “Anywhere from the information we needed to submit for the bid to the post-award information that they were requiring.” Geno worked with Acquisition Specialist John Lynch to get the answers to these questions. “John’s been very helpful in a very timely manner too. I didn’t have to sit around waiting for days. He was always right on the ball.”
John and Geno first formed strong bond when John helped Geno get over the final obstacles for VetBiz certification as a Veteran Owned & Service Disabled Veteran Owned Company. Geno tried to finish the certification process on his own, but could not get some important questions answered. “Once we came in contact with John, he basically was able to look into it, give us the right directions and within thirty days we were certified. What took me years of not getting anywhere, you guys were able to help us within thirty days.”
The four-year old company looks forward to more work in the federal sector. They plan on submitting at least one bid on a government contract every week. They stay busy with other projects too such as building a gated community for other veterans and scheduling time next summer for a possible reality TV show about their business.
With US Federal Contractor Registration's help, businesses such as Band of Brothers Restoration can continue to push forward while exploring this new market. They don’t have to pause everything else to take advantage of these government business opportunities. The Advanced Procurement Portal from US Federal Contractor Registration is a good example of this in action. Businesses can set-up a “Federal Feed” to get current opportunities that match their capabilities filtered right to their inbox.
