An upcoming fan-made “Grand Theft Auto V” mod will let players possess the power of the Mad Titan, Thanos, and use it against the people of Los Santos.
Fan and popular “GTA V” modder JulioNIB released several trailers featuring the Mad Titan and the gauntlet of Infinity Stones. The videos reveal that players can select Thanos as a playable character equipped with a variety of superpowers, thanks to the Infinity Stones.
JulioNIB is known within the “GTA V” community for developing mods that feature popular characters from other comic book and anime franchises, according to reports. In previous mods, JulioNIB brought Son Goku, The Flash, and Iron Man to the action-adventure game.
As for the upcoming Marvel-themed “GTA V” mod, each Infinity Stone gives Thanos a unique power just like in the comics and in the blockbuster movie “Avengers: Infinity War.” For example, the Power Stone can be used to blow up anything that will try to stop Thanos, like police cars and helicopters.
In another trailer, Thanos is seen using the Space Stone to open portals so he can teleport and escape from the police. However, the preview for the “Meteor Throw” move shows Thanos does not really have to fear anyone since he can literally throw meteors at police officers persuading him to surrender.
According to JulioNIB, the Reality Stone will let Thanos transform people and vehicles into rocks while the Soul Stone will allow the Mad Titan to kill pedestrians by stealing their souls. And, as many may have guessed, the Time Stone gives him the power to freeze time. The full version of the Thanos “GTA V” mod is currently in development and will not be available for download “until the end of this month.”
This is not the first time Thanos is arriving in a popular video game outside the Marvel franchise. Shortly after the box office success of “Avengers: Infinity War,” Epic Games released a “Fortnite” update that lets players assume the character and powers of the Mad Titan.
