After Facebook and Google, Twitter could be the next to ban advertisements related to cryptocurrencies and initial coin offerings (ICOs) on its platform, latest reports suggest.
Sources familiar with the matter told Sky News that Twitter is going to implement a new advertisement policy in two weeks which will prohibit ads related to ICOs, token sales, and cryptocurrency wallets on its platform.
Importantly, it may ban all ads relating to cryptocurrency exchanges, with some “limited exceptions,” once the policy is rolled out, Sky News reported.
Earlier in January, social media giant Facebook announced a new policy to prohibit promotional activities on ICOs and cryptocurrency. It said that many companies involved in this space are not operating in good faith.
More recently, Google announced that it will update its Financial Services Policy in June 2018 which will ban cryptocurrencies and related content, among other things.
